For the avoidance of doubt, the NHS Addictions Provider Alliance (NHS APA) Conference on the 28th November 2023 shall be referred to throughout this disclaimer as a “Virtual Conference Event”.

 

By joining any of the Virtual Conference Event sessions or accessing any of the Virtual Conference Event web pages, you consent to all of the following terms and conditions:
 

Privacy

 

Social Impact Services Ltd which trades under the brand name Brightsparks Agency (the Company) operate this website on behalf of our client NHS Addictions Provider Alliance (NHS APA) which is hosted by Midlands Partnership NHS Foundation Trust (the Client). Social Impact Services Ltd is a data Processor on behalf of NHS APA for the purposes of marketing and communications activities.

The Company or Client may share your data captured through this website and associated publishers with NHS APA. The Company may also share your data with third-party organisations that have been approved and contracted by NHS APA to support the improvement of our services to you. The Company is committed to protecting your privacy when you use our services and will always strive to ensure that we handle personal data fairly and lawfully, and with justification. Our aim is not to be intrusive by invading your privacy or to undertake any task which is irrelevant. Instead, our aim is to ensure we collect information that is of the highest quality in terms of accuracy, relevance, adequacy, non-excessive and which is "fit for purpose". Our Privacy Notice explains how we use information about you and how we protect your privacy.

 

Photography and Recording

Please note that Big Marker webinar software allows for audio and other information sent or published during the sessions to be recorded. Photographs and footage will also be taken throughout this Virtual Conference Event. These will be used by the NHS APA, its vendors, partners, affiliates and/or representatives for marketing and publicity on the NHS APA website, social media channels or third-party publications.
 
By joining this session, you consent to photography, audio recording, video recording and its/their release, publication, exhibition, or reproduction to be used for promotional purposes or for any other purpose(s) that the NHS APA deems fit to use.
 
In addition, this event will be monitored for unauthorised recording. By attending the NHS APA event you agree not to record or digitise any parts of the presentations. You also agree to the rules of conduct for attending the event which can be found below.
 
You have been fully informed of your consent, waiver of liability, and release. If you do not consent to be recorded, please contact the event organiser or do not join the session.
 
Intellectual Property
 
NHS APA and each of the speakers, presenters, affiliates, sponsors and contributors to this Virtual Conference Event, warrants that either it/they owns or is entitled to use and will continue to own or be entitled to use all Intellectual Property Rights presented and made available as part of this Virtual Conference Event.
 
For the avoidance of doubt, unless specified otherwise by NHS APA or its Virtual Conference Event speakers, presenters, affiliates, sponsors and contributors, conference participants shall have no rights to commercially exploit (e.g. by selling to third parties) or syndicate any Intellectual Property (eg materials, publications, content, videos) supplied or presented as part of the Virtual Conference Event.
 
Rules of conduct:
 
The Company and the Client reserves the right to moderate and review all content. We reserve the right to remove any content which is considered offensive and to block users who violate our rules of conduct. We reserve the right to edit, and/or delete any comment or content we deem inappropriate. Comments include but are not limited to the following:

  • Misleading, fraudulent or inaccurate statements which provide misleading information

  • Abusive, inflammatory, discriminative or demeaning commentary or content

  • Comments or content that is deemed threatening, aggressive or suggests illegal behaviour

  • Off-topic or redundant topics - this includes promotion of events, groups, pages, products, websites, and organisations, not related or affiliated officially with the event or NHS APA projects

  • Comments that use foul language, defamatory statements or comments to other participants that are not in the spirit of debate

  • Comments that violate the privacy of any of our attendees or speakers and their families including unsolicited personal information such as email addresses, telephone numbers, or address details
     

The Company and the Client are committed to ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for all participants at its meetings or events. We expect all participants and presenters to abide by this Anti-Harassment Policy throughout the duration of this Virtual Conference Event:

  • Exercise consideration and respect in your speech and actions.

  • Refrain from demeaning, discriminatory, or harassing behaviour and speech.

  • Be mindful of your fellow participants.

  • Alert the Company using the live chat function if you notice harassment
     

Unacceptable behaviour from any participant, attendees, sponsors or presenters will not be tolerated and may result in you being blocked from accessing the NHS APA website and may result in the Company reporting you to the police.

Presenter Opinions and Sensitive Materials Disclaimer:

Some of the Virtual Conference Event sessions may include sensitive material. Presenters may express a wide variety of opinions and views which do not necessarily represent the opinions and views of the Company or the Company or the Client and/or you as an individual. The presenters were selected because of their expertise in their respective subject areas and to provide you with a diversity of views on a variety of topics to enhance your Virtual Conference Event experience.

Sponsors

All sponsors have provided sponsorship of this event but provided no input into the programme.

The views and opinions of the speakers are not necessarily those of our sponsors.

Canvassing or Distribution:

No canvassing or distribution of materials is allowed at the Conference by anyone who has not pre-purchased an exhibitor or sponsorship opportunity.
